SMS Terms
These terms describe the text messages sent by ForgeOS — the field-service software that home-service businesses use to book, schedule and bill their customers.
Program name and what we send
ForgeOS Notifications. Texts are only about something the person asked for or is involved in:
- Customer care texts to people who book or receive service from a business using ForgeOS: appointment confirmations, reminders, reschedules, "technician on the way" updates, estimates, invoices, payment receipts and replies to their questions. Each text names the business it is from.
- Account texts to people who use ForgeOS: sign-in and verification codes, and alerts about missed calls, new bookings and jobs — including texts to a business's own team members about the jobs they're assigned.
- Missed-call replies: when someone calls a business and the call can't be answered, they may get one text from that business saying it missed their call and will call back. Replying STOP to it stops all texts from that business.
- Occasional offers from a business (for example a seasonal tune-up special) — only to customers who separately agreed to marketing texts from that business. Agreeing to appointment texts does not sign anyone up for offers. Every offer ends with "Reply STOP to opt out."
We never sell or rent phone numbers.
How people agree to receive texts
- Online booking: when booking a visit on a business's ForgeOS booking page, the person enters their mobile number and checks an unchecked box agreeing to appointment texts. Booking works without checking it; no texts are sent if the box is left empty.
- In person or by phone: a business may add a customer who gives their mobile number and asks to be texted about their appointment. Businesses using ForgeOS agree in our Terms to text only people who have given that consent.
- Offers: only when the customer separately tells the business they want to hear about offers by text. The business records that agreement in ForgeOS (when and how it was given); offers are never sent to anyone without it.
- ForgeOS account: a user enters their own mobile number during sign-up to receive a verification code and account alerts.
This is the checkbox shown on booking pages, next to the mobile number field:

Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with your appointments and account activity — typically a few messages per visit. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
How to stop texts (opt out)
Reply STOP to any message (STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT also work). You'll get one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and no more texts will be sent from that number. To start again, reply START.
Help
Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us at support@tryforgeos.com. For questions about a specific appointment, contact the business that texted you.
Carriers and privacy
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. See our Privacy Policy.
